Imagine an old moss-lined lane winding behind a village where pine needles hush each footstep, and sunlight catches on rough stone walls. This is where Trek Goat began—a quiet visual journal of hidden Croatia and the landscapes beyond it. Founded by Zdravko in 2020, Trek Goat began as a photography project dedicated to sharing landscape photography from Istria and the wider Alpe-Adria region. After 2021, it gradually became connected with the local Putokoza blog, created for the Croatian market, bringing together visual storytelling and authentic travel experiences rooted in the region.

Rooted in Croatia, the project celebrates real paths, rural life, handmade culture, and the small, quiet moments that reveal a more authentic way of traveling. Thoughtful writing, photographs, field notes, and traditional crafts come together to capture nature and local life — in an honest, unhurried rhythm.

What we do

• Storytelling & travel writing: Reflective stories from trails, villages, and landscapes — always based on real walks and lived experiences.
• Photography: Capturing nature, rural life, and quiet details of the Adriatic–Alpine world through both digital and analog work. We focus on authentic, documentary-style visuals that show landscapes, people, and traditions as they truly are — without rush, staging, or artificial trends.
• Trails & nature guides: Field-based insights for hikers and slow travelers: thoughtful explanations, practical advice, and detailed guidance shaped through real, on-foot exploration.
• Handmade & rural traditions: we explore and document traditional crafts, old rural customs, and slow ways of making things. Inspired by the knowledge of past generations, we also learn and create our own handmade pieces — from simple tools to creative home crafts — always respecting local heritage.
• Slow travel insights: essays, reflections, and observations on mindful movement, rural culture, and the art of slowing down in an increasingly fast-paced world.
